Pictures from our mission trip, under the auspices of the United Methodist
Church's Volunteers in Mission, to Río Bravo, Tamaulipas, Mexico, March
5-12, 2005. Our group consisted of people from many different Christian
denominations; the core came from St. James Episcopal Church in
Oneonta, NY. (All the pictures on these pages are links to larger versions
of themselves -- though they may not look larger in your browser,
they are large enough to be saved to your computer and printed.)
In the Albany, NY, airport, Saturday, March 5, 2005:
Ethel was in charge of getting everyone onto the plane, so she made
sure we found her.
On Sunday morning we went to the white and blue United Methodist Church in
Río Bravo, leaving the vans on the opposite side of the park outside the
church.
By the time we headed back for the vans, the drizzle had stopped:
Then we went to Nuevo Progreso, on the US border, for shopping.
Besides lots of shops for tourists, there are pharmacies and
dentists galore, because such services are
cheaper in Mexico.
