What
is a notebook?
Your professors have prepared various tutorials and
labs for you. Perhaps your class is studying derivatives; the professor
might put together a "notebook" or Mathematica file to demonstrate
different functions, their derivatives, and their graphs. After working
through such a notebook, you could begin to experiment with alterations to
the functions, perhaps plugging in your own personal favorites. Just put
the notebook in gear and go.
