Info about the Term Project
You will be doing a survey of Colgate students taking Stats this semester. The
topic is your choice, but you should focus your interpretation on how it relates to Colgate students.
For your surveys, you must give me your list of questions (at most 5) with your project proposal. Once
I hand the project proposals back you will enter the questions on a website whose address will then
be given.
As a requirement of class, all students must answer all questions on the survey webpage.
This is typically a 20-30 minute survey.
There are two main questions to be addressed with your survey; they are listed below. You should, at minimum, address BOTH of them.
Regression Analysis
Question to be addressed: What is the degree of (linear) association between ____ and ____? (Both variables should be quantitative.)
Tests of Significance, Hypothesis Testing
Question to be addressed: Is there a (statistical) difference between ____ and ____ regarding ____?
(For example: Is there a difference between men and women regarding height?)
DUE Friday, February 19
Project Proposal: Type a one page proposal on what you want to investigate.
Include the list of questions and why they are being asked and how they pertain to the above two main questions.
Each question must have a list of possible responses (i.e., each is a multiple choice question).
