About Me
I grew up in Arlington, MA. I went to college at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, PA. I completed a Bachelor's degree in Discrete Mathematics with a double major in Computer Science. I also completed a Master's Degree in Mathematics at Carnegie Mellon University where my thesis was "A Study of Combinatorial Games". After Pittsburgh, I moved to Atlanta, Georgia where I completed my doctorate at the Georgia Institute of Technology. My PhD thesis was called "A Study of Discrepancy Results in Partially Ordered Sets". I spent two years in Haifa, Israel as a Postdoctoral Scholar in the math department of the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology. Currently, I am an Assistant Professor of Mathematics at Colgate University.
Math InterestsMy mathematical interests lie in the field of combinatorics. Specifically, thanks to my advisor William T. Trotter I have developed a strong interest for partially ordered sets. In Israel I spent many long hours researching problems related to matching theory in hypergraphs. My list of research papers is available here.
I also have a passionate interest in teaching. I have been a teacher in some regard since my junior year of undergraduate. My underlying philosophy when teaching is to keep the student involved in the class and to keep students motivated to learn. My full philosophy is available here.
